I created a song based on a icaros song of young Shipibo shaman who died in an accident to support his family and help them sell their handicraft. We collected more than 1500$ all going directly to the family of Maestro Felipe Segundo.
“I would like to tell you a story of a young promising shipibo shaman who tragically passed away, his struggling family in need of support and a song collaboration that we made between the spirit and physical realms.
When I came to Peru I experienced 4 powerful ceremony with Shipibos. I really connected energetically with one of the shamans, the youngest and most energetic one – Felipe Segundo. He had a great stamina and his Icaros were really powerful, at the same time he was a very gentle soul. I still remember when the big dose of Ayahuasca totally blew me into the fractal womb and I didn’t want to come back to reality, but when I finally hearda voice telling me that he wants to sing for me and if I want to sit up and receive it. Just because of my respect for him I knew I need to be reborn into my body and so, all covered in my purge, barely seeing with one eye up and holding my self up into balance I got up and received his Icaro. Those ceremonies became the main reason why I continue to live in Peru and work with plant medicine and sound.
After the ceremonies we promised to make a song together but I’ve never felt ready. Almost a year later he died tragically in a moto caro accident… I’ve felt I forever lost the chance to honor him with our promised song. Recently I was having a solo mushroom journey in the music studio of the Sacred Valley in Peru, I listened to some track and when it finished the next song that came on with shuffle was the recording of his Icaro from the ceremonies we shared. I wasn’t aware I had it on my macbook among gigabytes of music. I understood this is no coincidence so I started working on my sound promise. 2 days ago the beother of Felipe Segundo wrote me that the family is struggling because of the COVID, they’re sick and need financial support. They offer their handicrafts and need help. I understood again that these synchronicities are not an coincidence.
I am sharing the finished song to reach more people, a collaboration between the spirit and physical world, the jungle and the Sacred Valley, between me and a beautiful soul that won’t sing again in the ceremony but his voice will always stay in the energetic body and DNA of the people he helped. Our promise is now complete brother.
