Hello family,
The biggest conscious music gathering in Perú – Ecstatic Dance Sacred Valley is coming back with a visit to the incredible Munay Sonqo Retreat Center in Arin to unite us to dance for peace.
Opening: Despacho with Maria Apaza (Q’ero Altomisayoq)
Line up:
Chancha via Circuito (Argentina)
Mikongo aka Miki Gonzales (50 years on stage)
Movement medicine with Anna Sierpowska (Poland)
RAQ (Ecstatic Dance Sacred Valley, Peru)
+ Cacao, Ritual Theater, Sound Bath, Delicious food & Elixir Bar
As usual we will open the day at 12 PM with an offering by Maria Apaza, the 98 year old Altomisayoq of the Q’ero Nation, the last descendants of the Incas. Maria is one of the most powerful spiritual leaders of Perú, at her age still traveling the world and sharing her prayers at the power places like Giza Pyramids or Tulum.
Then the Sikuris will lead us inside of the temple to open the dance space with an ancient prayer of sound and community.
The main performance of the day will be one of the biggest names on the Latin downtempo scene – Chancha Via Circuito coming from Argentina. He collaborated with artists like Nicola Cruz, El Buho or Baiuca. His tracks are being played around the world in millions and while listening you can hear lot’s of inspirations with latin folk as well as dub and downtempo. His tracks like Ilalo or Jardines have been played in our dances countless times so it makes me event more happy to now receive the artists himself to share his music in person.
The second main act of the day will come from the Peruvian music scene legend – Miki Gonzales, in his electronic music project called Mikongo. Miki is still celebrating 50 years on stage and it’s an honor to welcome him back to our event. His music introduced many generations of Peruvians to reggae and afro rhythms, while his lyrics were strongly anti-establishment. As a producer he likes mixing house music, downtempo and folk influences from Peru and Latin America.
Our female guest who will open the dance space of the day is my friend Anna Sierpowska and her Movement Medicine – she’s not a dj but what she does is something between a workshop of movement and presence mixed with a shamanic trance. She’s very charismatic as she leads the crowd with her voice and movement.
The host of ED Sacred Valley – RAQ will have the honors of closing the evening with his usual Ecstatic Dance music selection combining inspirations from plant medicine work and life in the jungle and the Andes. So far performing from Japan, through Germany, Poland, Norway, Greece, UK, Romania, Portugal, Mexico, Costa Rica and Peru along artists like Mose, Rodrigo Gallardo, Porangui, Ape Chimba, Alex Sierra, Janax Pacha, Flume, Tokimonsta and many more.
We close the night with a grounding sound journey and Sacred Fire.
As usual we will have a cacao ceremony by Padme and the art of ritual theater by Antua
Location:
It’s time to share a few words about the incredible space of Munay Sonqo Retreat & Yoga Center – Sach’a Munay in Arin, Sacred Valley where the event will take place and this time mention it’s unique story of an eastern European novel called The Witcher, bestselling video game and Ayahuasca healing. (!)
Munay Sonqo is probably the most amazing retreat center and temple space in Peru and one of the best ones in the world. The place is nestled below the sacred apu Pitusiray and nearby a waterfall. It’s gardens are full of flowers and humming birds, while there are 2 tons of selenite crystals under the wooden floor of the main temple where we will dance, with the view of Pitusiray through the glass roof. If you want to have some relaxation, you can also get the the spa ticket with jacuzzis, saunas, cold plunge and salt cave (200 soles ticket+spa). Or if you want to go with a full retreat you can rent a room, with food, spa and ticket included (450 soles).
Not many people know the story of the center, it was created by one of the owners of CD-Projekt Red, the game dev company that took a famous polish novel about a Witcher who takes different magical potions in order to slay demons and turned it into the best selling game in the world, making the owner rich but also destroyed with stress from work. It’s been ayahuasca, yoga and vipassana that helped him to heal and change his life. He decided to leave the gaming industry and share the healing he received, so he opened Munay Sonqo in orders for others to also experience the magic of these holistic modalities.
Thanks to that we can now come together dance in the best space in Peru!

Hola familia,

Maria Apaza
The opening despacho ceremony of the festival will be held by the legendary 98 year old Q’ero Altomesayoq – Maria Apaza, who at her age still travels the world and shares her powerful prayers, from Giza pyramids to Tulum.
She will be also offering coca readings amd energetical clearings to the participants.
“Altomesayoq (Al-to-me-sa-yok) Alto means ‘High’/ mesayoq means ‘One who has power’. It’s rumoured that there are roughly 10 Altomesayoq alive today spread throughout Peru and Bolivia.
The difficulty in becoming an Altomesayoq is that one needs to be struck by lightning and survive. There’s an initiation process that involved dedicating her life to a path chosen for her by something larger than herself. An Altomesayaq is said to have a special communion with the spirit world.
The ceremony where the despacho is collectively created is a beautiful, South American tradition, where elements from the Earth are chosen and the offering is built together, as a group, with intent and love. Ultimately, the Despacho offering goes back to Mother Earth, filled with prayer, along with the intentions and vibrations of those participating…a living request to bring energy shifts and healing in exchange for the continued love and care of Mother Earth.”
